April home sales for the Charlotte market increased by a wide percentage over the same month last year.

Charlotte area home sales rose across the board from closings to pending sales from the same time in 2009.

Mecklenburg County saw a 9% increase in foreclosure filings for the same month last year.  The total filings for last month were 1,098 versus 1,008 for the same time last year.

Lured by what could end up a $4 million job growth incentive grant, Hewitt Associates is planning to add 463 jobs in the next 3 years.  I good sign for the Charlotte job market.

To help with overcrowding at both Porter Ridge High School and Porter Ridge Middle School, the board has elected to move 500 students to other area Union County schools.

We’re absolutely thrilled that the house is sold in a matter of a few months in the downside market. Joe took care of our house from the day one and followed through even after it was sold as we’ve been relocated. I’d recommend him many times over if possible. Thank you Joe, you’re the best!

The Charlotte area home sales were up 4% from February 2009 numbers.  Also, just as encouraging was the average price also increased from same time last year by 5%.
